Spencer’s craftsmanship is amazing! Seven years ago, he mounted my African masks on boards, wrapped it with a micro suede material and framed it. I renovated my house so I will be bringing the masks back to be reworked.
I cannot say enough good things about Spencer (the owner) and the work he and his team did. After seeing my tile laundatoey reviews online, I called his shop on a Wednesday evening and by that Friday evening, my framing job was done and ready for pick up. Spencer is a true professional with an unbelievable eye for selecting the perfect combination of frame style and accompanying matting. I especially appreciated how quickly he was able to discern what I wanted and make suggestions without being overbearing or pushy. The finished product (a framed newspaper article) was even better than I imagined. Unparalleled customer service, I look forward to using A to Z for all my future framing needs.
I called several framers in the area before ultimately deciding to use A to Z. The owner, Spencer, is just amazing. The level of care and customer service that he displaced is paramount to none.
I called him a week before Christmas with my request, he said no problem, come on by. I then told him I'd have to take extra time off of work to make it during his business hours and he brushed that idea away and stayed late to meet with me, working around MY schedule. I was floored.
I got and find that I mistakenly had the print incorrectly printed (from a third party). He threw around ideas of what he could do to cover up the mistake (the print was laminated).
We decided on a game plan and a frame, at an EXTREMELY reasonable price and I picked it up several days later and am estactic with the outcome.
I don't care where I live in Maryland, from now on I'll make the trek to A to Z framing.
We searched all over the DMV to find a professional who could both restore a sentimental family painting and to also frame it. Spencer (the owner) remained open past the closing time of the business and went above and beyond to help us find the right matting, frame and to also talk through the restoration process. He also promised to deliver the picture, fully restored and framed, by the time we will be hosting a big family event in our home. I will update the review when we pick up the picture but so far this business has been outstanding and Spencer is a really personable and accommodating professional. I'd highly recommend turning your most sentimental treasures over to his capable hands.
Spencer is great. One of the only framers with an actual eye for art. Worth the premium.
What a straight up honest business man. He is very trustworthy and his staff is as kind as can be. The finished product is amazing thank you guys.
Highly recommend due to great pricing, quality, frame options, and customer service. Was looking for a basic black frame with UV/sun-blocking glass for a very delicate painting on cloth material.
Customer Service: The lady at the register understood our needs and budget and kept her suggestions aligned with them. She gave us mounting recommendations to ensure the cloth lays neatly within the frame without creasing. Although Owner Spencer isn't at the store, phone calls go directly to him, so he assured me 4 days prior to pick-up date that the piece will be ready when I called to check its progress. On pick-up date I wasn't able to pick up by closing time, so he tried to see if an employee could go to the store just for me. The next day the lady at the store stayed 5 minutes late for me since I let her know it's an hour drive from my work and I'm running late. They seem to go out their way to ensure customer satisfaction.
Pricing: We were given a great discount. Furthermore, the price was half of Michael Arts' price.
Quality: Piece looks amazing!
Suggestion: Store closes at 6pm. A later time, even 7pm, would help for customers that have work that ends late or is long distance.
Amazing customer service and excellent pricing as well. Awesome quality.
Great customer service. The owner is awesome and the staff is friendly. I'm lucky I used their art framing services.
My wife and I had great experiences with Spencer and his team. He framed multiple college diplomas for us and our families, and all were quality. Spencer even did a nice job of suggesting mattes and frames that accentuated the diplomas and the university colors.
I also had a friend who used A to Z framing to gift us our wedding invitation, and they did an outstanding job - the gold frame and pink matte were perfect and matched our wedding theme nicely.
Pricing is fair and I'm all about supporting local businesses compared to an AC Moore or Michael's. We'll definitely be returning customers!
I'm very happy with this shop. I had purchased a pricey, but personally autographed, reproduction canvas over the weekend and, after hanging it on my wall, decided it really needed a frame. After doing some initial pricing at AC Moore's and Michael's, I went to A To Z. Although I had something in mind, it was not too busy so Spencer was able to spend time with me looking at the various options. We ended up going with what I had originally envisioned. Spencer gave me a discounted price and it came to approximately $10 more than AC Moore's, BUT he did it immediately. Both AC Moore's and Michael's estimated a 2 to 3 week wait time. A To Z turned it around in 2 hours and it's just what I had asked for!
I am very happy with my final result. I had a very cool limited edition serigraph by Agam called "Magic Rainbow". The piece was really big measuring 48X40 unframed.
I arrived to the store after work towards the closing time. We spent a long time choosing the right frame and the matting. After everything was selected I paid and left. When I came to pick up my piece I noticed that the glass had a lot of glare and since it was going into a really sunny room it was not the right choice for me. I called the owner and he upgraded my glass to a non glare conservation glass at no extra cost. Moreover since the piece was over-sized it would not fit inside my sedan, the owner offered to deliver the piece at no extra cost and even helped my husband put it up on the wall. My favorite piece looks great! I am very happy. No-one is perfect but it's how the problem was handled won me over.
This place is amazing! I had a hole-in-one golf shadow box made and was astonished by how great it looked upon picking it up. The owner was incredibly friendly and gave me an amazing discount. I could not have had this done for a better price anywhere- especially with this attention to detail (even Michael's craftstore was considerably more expensive) I also needed it for a birthday gift and they went above and beyond and had it done for me in less than 24 hours. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat and will certainly be going back myself. You will not be disappointed!!
Framing: not cheap, but very high quality. The art gift I had framed now looks quite stunning with a dark chestnut frame. Spencer spent an entire hour helping me when I initally went in - we looked at many different frame options. If you have original art that's important to you, and wish to have it expertly framed, A TO Z "Spencer " is a great choice!
I found out about this business through a val-pak coupon mailer. The staff seemed very competent and helped me choose nice, yet affordable frames. I was really pleased with the paintings I had framed. The hours of operation are not listed on the window, so it was hard to know when I could come back to pick it up. I don't have a car so a friend gave me a ride to pick up for 4 pieces from 2 orders. Two pieces from my original order were not ready (it was a few days past the 2 week date that was promised). I explained to the gentleman I didn't have to a car to get back until the weekend, he offered to drop off the unfinished pieces when they were done. That evening he dropped off the items, which was a big help!! There work looks great and they have a huge selection. The gentleman gave me ideas for framing things from my wedding. I just caution you to call before picking up the items.
This place is amazing! I had a hole-in-one shadow box made and was literally astonished by how great it looked- especially for the price I paid. The owner was incredibly friendly and gave me an amazing discount. I could not have had this done for a better price anywhere else- especially with this attention to detail. I also needed it right away for a birthday gift and they went above and beyond and had it done for me in less than 24 hours. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat and would completely ignore the negative reviews- you will not be disappointed here!
Just finished custom framing our ketubah here. Price was more than fair, though all the discounts come out to about the same place, and the owner is straightforward in offering his discount even without a coupon. The guidance picking the frame and glass and matt were professional and talented. The work was skillful, and they rushed the sealing process while we waited for our convenience. Besides, the owner is a delightful and funny character.
The owner Spencer is extremely creative and talented. He has chosen many beautiful frames for me over the years. I have also sent many friends and they have been pleased with the results. He's got a great eye, hugh selection, all customized. Always seems to guide you to the right choice, with fair pricing. On a side note he has helped with some charitable events as well, and generously donated his services. I continue to go back.
Just got another painting (of beautiful New Orleans) framed. I won't reveal my discount amount because it was truly beyond fair on Spencer's part. The triple mat and rustic frame fits so well I don't want to even recall what the painting looked like without the gorgeous framework. Once again, Spencer patiently went through a slew of colors, arrangements, and styles to my liking as well as politely offering me suggestions of what works well.
Now I just want to pour a glass of wine and stare. This made my day! Note: I am not an art connoisseur or aspire to be one but I do know what I like. And A to Z will guide you along every step of the way.
A to Z is amazing! It's inexpensive, but you're getting handcrafted frames and really personalized attention and detail to the job. I had three photos framed for family for gifts and Spencer Zarin the owner asked me about each individual, their style and taste, and he worked out the best layout, mat and frame for each. I have never received such incredible, wonderful attention anywhere, and was blown away by the craftsmanship! Worth every penny! When you first walk in it's a little overwhelming, but just breathe, they want you there and they will blow your mind! I would absolutely go back!
They are great !!! 🙂
We had 6 hockey and football jerseys to frame for our office. They did an excellent job; it took a couple of weeks, but the workmanship was great!!
We’ve been going to A to Z for now about 2.5 years !!! in this time, they had done over 38 framing from certificate to ribbon cutting giant scissors!!!
Thank you Spencer!!
I came in with 2 pieces that I've been holding on to for a while because I know how expensive framing can be. Between the living social and extra discounts, Spencer really gave me a great deal.
He really thought about which frames went best with my pieces and listened to my feedback when something he suggested didn't fit my style. They did a really beautiful job on both, I definitely recommend.
I have been really happy using A to Z in the past. When they had a Living Social and then a Groupon, I jumped to buy one so I could get even more of a discount. The pricing is fair, the owner is experienced and friendly.
